Hindi Diwas Celebration - 2020

Nutrition Week - 2020

Podar International School Ratnagiri has celebrated "National Nutrition Week" from 1st September to 7th September 2020 for Grade I and II. The main focus of this campaign was to bring awareness about nutritious food and inculcate good eating habits in students. Nutritious food plays very important role in development of physical and mental health and helps to maintain good health. Students have followed dietary chart provided earlier and successfully completed Nutrition Week with their active participation.

Teacher's Day Celebration 'Grade I and II' - 2020

"Every home is a university and the parents are the teachers." Podar International School, Ratnagiri had celebrated Teacher's Day virtually with kids of Grade I and II.Parents are the First Teacher, so our little hands made flowers and greeting cards for them. Teacher's Day Celebration - 2020

“Teaching is not a service, profession or a job. It is a pillar of the society.” In order to show the appreciation for teachers, The Students’ Council of Podar International School, #Ratnagiri took up the initiative to hold an online celebration of Teachers Day on 5 September 2020 through Google Meet. The programme began by paying tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan – the second President of India who was a great academic philosopher and one of the most well-known diplomat, scholar, President of India and above all a teacher. A video was played where the students expressed their gratitude for teachers. The teachers took part enthusiastically in the fun games arranged by the students. The videos of dance performance, written messages and collage card added joy to the celebration. The programme came to an end with the inspirational words by the Principal Mr. Kirtikumar Deshmukh.

E-Marathon at PIS Ratnagiri - 2020

“Being healthy and fit isn’t a fad or a trend, it’s a lifestyle.” A person stays happier when he/she is fit and healthy. To promote a healthy lifestyle, Podar International School, #Ratnagiri had organized a VIRTUAL RUN, E- MARATHON for students, parents and teachers from 31 Aug 2020 to 2 September 2020 amidst the outbreak of COVID- 19. A tremendous response was shown by the participants. The modern technology helped to complete the fitness run with the use of different tracker apps. Through this activity our students have realized the importance of health and fitness which influences positivity and self-confidence, to face and find a way out of any situation.

Independence Day Celebration - 2020

Freedom in our mind,

Podar International School, Ratnagiri, celebrated 74th Independence Day with unprecedented patriotic fervour on 15th August, 2020 at 8 am on the school assembly ground.

The flag hoisting ceremony was telecasted on facebook live. Due to corona virus pandemic restricting the movement, students and parents were asked to view the proceedings live from their home.

To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, the Principal and the Headmistress PJK, garlanded the portrait of Mahatma Gandhiji and unfurled the tricolor flag and the teachers in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of freedom.

The spirit of freedom and nationalism was well exhibited by the teachers through the flag song “Jhanda uncha rahe hamara”.

The Principal Mr. Kirtikumar Deshmukh addressed the assembly and urged the viewers to keep the flag of the nation flying high as the citizens of tomorrow. He also added, “This crisis has put forth new opportunities, possibilities in front of us; and we should take advantage of those opportunities to minimize our weaknesses and come out stronger than others.”

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by the event coordinator.

Indeed, it was a day of elation, a day of love and respect for the country, instilling in the Podarites, the value and reverence for the gift of freedom by the great leaders of the country.

Investiture Ceremony 2020-2021

“Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.”

"Leaders are not born but are made by their experiences in life". To inculcate the leadership qualities in the students and to give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body, a school prefectorial board was formed after Virtual Election Campaigning and through online voting.

The Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2020-21 was held virtually on the auspicious day of Independence Day with great pomp and dignity through Google meet. The event was presided over by the Principal Mr. Kirtikumar Deshmukh.

The event commenced with a melodious and inspiring song which perfectly suited the occasion. The elected leaders were conferred with badges and sashes by their parents. The Oath taking ceremony was led by the Principal and the elected leaders repeated the pledge with great pride and respect. The students’ council took the pledge to hold the school motto of loyalty, truth and honour in high esteem. The school flag and house flags were handed over to the event coordinator and house masters respectively by the Principal. The newly elected Head boy and the Head girl shared their thoughts and gratitude to the teachers and management in their speech.

The Principal inspired and encouraged the elected leaders to be dutiful and responsible in his address to the gathering. He congratulated the leaders and admonished them to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties. He also exhorted them to uphold the values. He reminded them that with position comes responsibility towards themselves, their school and peers and struggles help one to achieve heights. He advised them to be role models and extended a supporting hand to the students’ council for the smooth running of the school. The vote of thanks was proposed by the event coordinator.The function concluded with the School Song.

It was indeed a successful event which was conducted with the high degree of earnestness and passion.

World Nature Conservation Day - 2020

World Nature Conservation Day is celebrated internationally each year on July 28 to increase awareness about the best practices to protect our natural resources.

World Nature Conservation Day recognizes that a healthy environment is the foundation for a stable and productive society and to ensure the well-being of present and future generations, we all must participate to protect, conserve, and sustainably manage our natural resources.

On this occasion, the students of Grade IV, V and VI of Podar International School, #Ratnagiri haveengaged themselves in the activities such as plantation, preparing charts on endangered species or medicinal plants and posters on wildlife protection.

Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebration - 2020

"The true soldier fights,

26 July is celebrated in India as Kargil Vijay Diwas named after the successful Operation Vijay which took place in 1999.

On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the students of Podar International School, Ratnagiri have prepared musical tribute by singing a patriotic song to salute the heroes of our country.

The students of Grade VII, VIII and IX showcased their love for the motherland by preparing a Dialogue Strip on topic Patriotism.

Plastic Free Home Campaign - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle - 2020

Podar International School, Ratnagiri had launched Plastic Free Home Campaign on 17th June 2020 for a month.

The objective of this campaign was to inculcate awareness about the environment in all the students. This will help them to become vigilant citizens of India. It was an open platform for all the students and parents to take part and to showcase their creativity and to come up with their innovative ideas about the recycling and reuse of plastic at their home.

The circular related to this campaign circulated to all the parents on 13th June 2020.Circular was reflecting terms and condition of the campaign as well as the criteria of the judgment. Parents were supposed to make maximum 5 minutes video of their home. On 17th July 2020 Class teachers submitted videos to the In charges. On 18th July 2020 judges examined videos following the criteria of innovation, creativity, reuse, recycle and presentation.

In this competition Miss Farhin wadkar has secured first position, Master Hardik Harne has secured second position, Master Vihaan Kadam has secured third position, Miss. Devashree Manjale and P. Yashila Naidu have secured consolation. On 20th July 2020 Hon. Principal Mr. Kirtikumar Deshmukh has declared the result and winners have received the E- Certificates along with the message congratulating them through Between Us portal. These winners will be felicitated on Annual Day. All the participants and the winners were congratulated by Principal sir for their incredible contribution and enthusiastic participation.
